The Indian Senior National Badminton Championships to some extent can be "nicknamed" the supreme national championships for individuals of the country's badminton. The 77th edition this year took place in Srinagar from September 26 to today (October 3). While the Olympic heroine Saina Nehwal was absent, still the championships featured all best badminton players of India, such as Kashyap Parupalli (the first ever Indian men's singles to play at the Olympic Games), the rising star P.V. Sindhu, the double specialist Ashwini Ponnnappa, and Sourabh Varma.
