Indonesian Badminton Association (Persatuan Bulutangkis Seluruh Indonesia, PBSI) is having a national invitation namely "Sirkuit Nasional (Sirnas) Bulutangkis" this year following the hand-over of the PBSI Local Committee of the Jakarta Province for the period of 2010-2014. The invitation began on Tuesday, May 18 and is going to last until May 23. There are 2,049 players to participate in this competition. It is a new record, said an official from the PBSI Headquarters, Mimin Irawan. The two previous invitations in Balikpapan and Pekanbaru did not attract as many competitors as that of the Jakarta session.
The Jakarta Sirnas is expected to support the development and talent scouting of future players, in particular those who will be the next Indonesian top squads. However, the Organizing Committee also invites participants from other countries, such as India, Singapore, Wales, and the United States.
